Amitabh not to attend Shahrukh's Party

It is known to all that Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan are not great buddies and they were sharing cold vibes during the days of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Shahrukh even showed his hatred for the Bachchan family at the filmfare events by cutting derogatory jokes against Amitabh for not inviting industry friends at Ash-Abhi’s wedding. And Amitabh too reverted back by not attending Karan Johar birthday bash specially organized by Shahrukh Khan, Gauri and Kajal Anand at Juhu.

Though Amitabh, Jaya stayed away, beta Abhishek and bahu Aishwarya attended the party. The other guests at Karan’s party included Arjun Rampal, Harman Baweja, Priyanka Chopra, Chunkey Pandey (with wife Bhavna Pandey), Maheep Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmukh, Farhan Akhtar and others. Abhi and Ash left early to catch the next party thrown by Ashutosh Gowariker in celebration of Jodhaa Akbar completing 100 days along with Jaya, Amitabh, while others partied till the wee hours in the morning.

Apart from the Bachchan family, Ashutosh’s party was attended by the Roshans (Rakesh, Hrithik, Suzzane), Kunal Kohli, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ram Mirchandani, Ronnie Screwvala, and Vipul Shah. The incident clearly indicates that the Bachchans and Shahrukh are still on bad terms.

Shahrukh Vs Aamir

Not so much by design as by default, Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan are on a collision course.

So much has been happening between Aamir and Shahrukh in last few months, with Aamir claiming to be the numero uno in Bollywood and SRK humbly accepting the second spot. The good-natured banter between the two took a somewhat ugly turn when Aamir wrote a blog about having a smelly, attention-seeking dog named Shahrukh.
While the two stars claim there is no animosity between them, the competition between the two certainly seems to be heating up.

For Aamir’s upcoming film Ghajini (Hindi) is set to clash with SRK’s next release Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi . But the clash seems more by coincidence than by deliberation.

Initially, ‘Ghajini’ was set to release in October. But then Aamir sustained a hamstring injury while doing a stunt scene and the film’s shooting had to be postponed.

Now, it is learnt that the film will be delayed in its release by over two months. Reports say Aamir is considering a year-end release of the film – December 12, which, coincidentally also happens to be the day when the SRK-starrer ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ will hit the marquee.

Industry insiders believe that if the clash does happen, it will be a very tough battle because ‘Rab Ne’ being Aditya Chopra ’s comeback film as a director has already generated tremendous curiosity among movie buffs. On the other hand, fans are eagerly waiting to see Aamir Khan in action again after the superhit Taare Zameen Par .

“It would be a clash of Bollywood titans,” says a trade analyst.

Shahrukh says "he's not good for Hollywood"

Bollywood superstar SHAHRUKH KHAN is not surprised he has failed to land a part in a blockbuster movie - because he doubts his acting abilities. The actor - who is currently in London promoting new movie Go For It India - will never land a megabucks movie deal because he does not boast the skills of his Hollywood counterparts. He says, "If there is a (Hollywood) role which is interesting enough, I would do it. But so far I have never been offered a big role or a good role from Hollywood - actually, for that matter, never a role from Hollywood, big or small. "I don't think I am a specifically talented enough 40-year-old actor. I am sure there are a lot of 40-year-old actors there who are more talented, better looking, speak the language better. "And I don't have a USP (unique selling point) of Kung Fu, I can't do something specific. Unless they start doing Hindi film songs in Hollywood, I don't think anybody is going to cast me." And Khan claims Bollywood stars should give up attempting to break into Hollywood, adding "I don't think working down there (Hollywood) is the ultimate aim or should be the ultimate aim of an Indian actor."

Has Akshay Kumar stolen the ‘King of Bollywood’ tag from SRK?

For fans, who have checked out the trailer of Akshay Kumar’s new movie ‘Singh is Kinng’ sure must have noticed that the star is being introduced as the ‘King of Bollywood’ in the flick.

We thought it was interesting as its Shahrukh, who has been tagged as the ‘King in Bollywood’ as he is referred to as ‘King Khan’ in Bollywood. In 2007, if SRK delivered 2 hits ‘Chak De’ and ‘Om Shanti Om’, and Akshay managed to give 4 blockbusters, ‘Namastey London’, ‘Heyy Babyy’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’ and ‘Welcome’.

So talking about the success ratio, Akshay is sure ahead of SRK in the game; the star is already receiving rave reviews for his role of ‘Bachchan Pande’ in Yashraj’s ‘Tashan’. Besides, ‘Singh is Kinng’ and ‘China to Chandni Chowk’ are on the way to soon create magic at the box-office as well.

With such an impressive pipeline, it looks like year 2008 sure belongs to Akshay and it is no surprise that the star wants to upgrade himself from being the ‘Khiladi’ to being called the ‘King of Bollywood’.

So fans, who truly deserves the ‘King of Bollywood’ title; is it Akshay or Shahrukh?
